Bangladesh Telegraph and Telephone Board (Amendment) Act, 1995

Act No.16 of 1995

An Act made to further amend the Bangladesh Telegraph and Telephone Board Ordinance, 1979

Whereas it is expedient to further amend the Bangladesh Telegraph and Telephone Ordinance, 1979 (XII of 1979);

Now, therefore, it is enacted as follows:-

1. Short title.- This Act may be called the Bangladesh Telegraph and Telephone Board (Amendment) Act, 1995.

2. Amendment of section 8 of Ordinance No.XII of 1979.- In section 8 of the Bangladesh Telegraph and Telephone Board Ordinance, 1979 (XII of 1979),-

(a) for clause (a) shall be substituted the following clause, namely:-
"(a) to establish, maintain and operate, telegraphs and telephones in any part of Bangladesh;
(aa) to prepare and execute development plans;"
(b) in clause (b), for the words and figures "section 7 and 15" shall be substituted the words/figures and letter "sections 4, 7, 8, 15 and 19B".
