SUBSIDIARY LEGISLATION
Notification under section 11(1) conferring special jurisdiction onmagistrates
The Chief Justice has conferred upon the following magistrates, with effect from the 1st February 1989, special jurisdiction in a Court presided over by any such magistrate by increasing the power to pass a sentence of imprisonment to a term of 7 years and a fine of $10,000 —
(a) the person occupying the post of Chief Magistrate;
(b) the person occupying the post of Senior Magistrate;
(c) the person occupying the post of Chief Registrar;
(d) the person occupying the post of Deputy Chief Registrar;
(e) any person occupying the post of Registrar; and
(f) any qualified person meaning a person who is qualified for thepurposes of the Legal Profession Act (Chapter 132) by virtue of section 3thereof, occupying the post of Magistrate.
