SUPPLEMENTARY EXTRADITION AGREEMENT BETWEEN CANADA AND BELGIUM
THE GOVERNMENT OF CANADA AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE KINGDOM OF BELGIUM,
Desiring to complete the list of crimes and offences for which extradition may be granted under the Extradition Treaty between Belgium and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland signed on October 29, 1901, and which governs relations on that matter between Belgium and Canada,
Have decided to conclude a Supplementary Agreement for such purposes and have agreed as follows:
ARTICLE I
Article I of the Extradition Treaty between Belgium and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, as applicable to relations on that matter between Belgium and Canada, is hereby completed by the following provision:
30: Crimes and offences with regard to illegal traffic in dangerous drugs.
ARTICLE II
The present Supplementary Agreement shall be ratified and the instruments of ratification shall be exchanged at Brussels as soon as possible.
It shall become effective one month after the exchange of ratifications; it shall continue in effect and shall be terminated in the same way as the said Treaty of October 29, 1901.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the undersigned, duly authorized to that effect, have signed the present Supplementary Agreement, drawn up in the French and the English languages, and have affixed their seals thereto.
DONE at Ottawa, in duplicate, this 21st day of December, 1966.
