AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT OF OCTOBER 4, 1956 BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT OF CANADA AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE FRENCH REPUBLIC ON THE ADMISSION OF TRAINEES TO CANADA AND TO FRANCE
THE GOVERNMENT OF CANADA AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE FRENCH REPUBLIC, hereinafter called the "Parties";
WISHING to increase the exchanges of young professional trainees between the two States within the terms and conditions of the Agreement of October 4, 1956, between the Government of Canada and the Government of the French Republic concerning the admission of Trainees to Canada and to France, as modified by the Amendment of January 16, 1987,
HAVE AGREED as follows:
ARTICLE I
In Article III of the Agreement of October 4, 1956 modified by the Amendment of January 16, 1987, paragraph (a) is replaced by the following paragraph:
"(a) The maximum number of trainees admitted yearly to the territory of each Party shall be three hundred (300), as of January 1, 2001".
ARTICLE II
The present Amendment shall enter into force on signature.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the undersigned, duly authorized to that effect, have signed this Amendment.
DONE at Paris, in two original copies, this 6th day of February 2001, in the English and French languages, all texts being equally authentic.
