January 1963 onwards for three months, under the same terms, the Trade Agreement signed in Santiago, Chile, between our two Governments,
on the 10th March, 1960. During this period, which may be extended on mutual agreement, if considered necessary, by means of similar Exchange of Notes, both
the Governments will negotiate towards concluding new trade arrangements, taking into consideration the mutual interests of our countries
for increasing the volume of their trade, in conformity with the traditionally cordial and friendly relations between Chile and India. This Note, as well as the similar Note in reply from you, will constitute the Agreement to extend the validity of the above mentioned

During our recent discussion leading to the extension of the Trade Agreement between India and Chile up to the extension
of trade between the two countries and agreed that there was considerable scope for increased trade from India in items
, viz, rails, railway tracks and signalling equipments railway rolling stock (wagons and coaches) and steam locomotives
apart from the commodities mentioned in the Scheduled 'A' of the Agreement. It was therefore agreed between us that the
above mentioned items may be added to Scheduled 'A' of the Agreements. I should be grateful if you would confine that the above correctly sets out the understanding reached between us.
