Your EXCELLENCY,
I have the honour of refer to the Inter-Government consultations held in Berne in October 1970 between the delegations representing
the Government of India and the Government of Switzerland and to state that the Annex to the Provisional Agreement between the Government
of India and the Government of Switzerland relating to Air Services dated June 24, 1949, which was amended by the Exchange of Letters
of May 28, 1963, shall be modified to read as follows in English and French languages, both texts being equally authentic :
ANNEX
Section I
The airline designated by the Government of India shall be entitled to operate air services in both directions on the routes specified
in this Section and to land for traffic purposes in the territory of Switzerland at each of the points specified.
Routes: India Pakistan Afghanistan Trucial Oman Sharjah Dubai Abu Dhabi Qatar Bahrain Kuwait Saudi Arabia
Iran Iraq Jordan Syria Lebanon United Arab Republic Israel Cyprus Greece Turkey Moscow Bulgaria Rumania
Hungary Yugoslavia Italy Austria Geneva or Zurich Czechoslovakia France Belgium Netherlands Germany Denmark
Norway Sweden United Kingdom Ireland Canada United States of America.
Section II
The airline designated by the Swiss Federal Council shall be entitled to operate air services in both directions on the routes
specified in this section and to land for traffic purposes in the territory of India at each of the points specified.
Routes:- Switzerland Austria Italy Yugoslavia Hungary Romania Bulgaria Turkey Greece Cyprus United Arab Republic
Israel Lebanon Syria Jordan Iraq Iran Saudi Arabia Kuwait Bahrain Afghanistan Pakistan Bombay or Delhi
and thence to
(a) Burma Thailand Vietnam Hong Kong Philippines Japan;
(b) Burma or Ceylon Thailand Malaysia Singapore Indonesia New Guinea Australia.
Section III
(a) Points on any of the specified routes may, at the option of the designated airline, be omitted on any or all flights.
(b) Points on any of the specified routes need not necessarily be served in the order in which they have been specified, provided
that the route flown does not cease to be reasonably direct.
(c) The word ORwhen used between two points in the Route Schedules shall mean that both points may be served, but not on the same
service.
2. Upon receipt of a note from Your Excellency indicating that the foregoing provisions are acceptable to
the Government of Switzerland, I have the honour to propose that this note and Your Excellency's note in
reply constitute an Agreement between the two Governments.

I confirm that the foregoing provisions are acceptable to the Government of Switzerland and that Your Excellency's note and this
reply shall be regarded as constituting a formal agreements between the two Governments.
