DESIROUS of promoting and expanding their economic and commercial relations
HAVE AGREED as follows :
Article I
The exchange of goods between India and Turkey shall be subject to and effected within the scope of the General Import and Export
Laws, Rules and Regulations in force in each country.
Article II
Both Contracting Parties, subject to their respective import, export, foreign exchange and other regulations in force shall grant
maximum possible facilities and take appropriate measures to promote trade between the two countries generally and in particular
with regard to the goods listed in Schedules ‘A’ & ‘B’ annexed to this Agreement.
These schedules are indicative in nature and goods not included in the above mentioned indicative Schedules will also be exchanged
in accordance with the existing import and export laws and rules and regulations in both countries.
Article III
All payments and charges in connection with the commercial transactions between the two countries will be made in convertible currencies
agreed upon by the respective Central Banks of the two Regulations in force in each country.
Article IV
Subject to their respective Laws, Rules and Regulations, both Contracting Parties agree to grant to each other all required facilities
and assistance for holding and participating in Trade Fairs and Exhibitions and visits of businessmen and Trade delegations in their
respective territories.
Article V
Both Contracting Parties will encourage and provide, subject to the existing laws, Rules and Regulations maximum possible facilities
to the trading organisations in their respective countries to establish relationship with the trading organisations in the other
country in order to promote trade between the two countries.
Article VI
Subject to Laws, Rules and Regulations in force in both countries businessmen and enterprises of either party shall be accorded maximum
possible facilities for carrying on legitimate and permissible commercial activities.
Article VII
The two Contracting Parties agree to set up a Joint Committee comprising their representatives, to meet upon the request of either
party in New Delhi and Ankara alternatively at a mutually agreed date, in order to facilitate the implementation of the present Agreement
and to solve the problems relevant to its application, as well as recommending measures aiming at the promotion of trade between
the two countries.
Article VIII
The present Agreement shall come into force from the date of its signature, subject to its final ratification in accordance with
the respective procedures of each Contracting Party and shall remain in force for a period of one year and shall thereafter be automatically
renewed for further similar periods, unless a written notice of termination is given by either party two months prior to the expiry
of the Agreement.
DONE in New Delhi on 19 September 1973 in Duplicate in Hindi, Turkish and English languages. The three texts will be equally authentic.
In case ase of doubt, with regard to the interpretation of the Agreement, the English text will prevail.
