New Delhi, 3 December 1974Desiring to further develop and strengthen cultural relations between the Republic of India and the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic
and for the purpose of extending cooperation in the field of television, in conformity with the Agreement on Cultural Cooperation
signed between the two countries in 1959, the All India Radio, and the Czechoslovak Television,
HAVE agreed as follows :
Article 1
Both organizations shall regularly and free of charge exchange news materials in the form of shots and reportages.
Article 2
The two organizations shall exchange on reciprocal basis television programmes in various fields of the social and economic life of
their country, in the fields of culture, science, technology, sport etc. Each programme shall be accompanied by texts written in
English.
Article 3
Besides the exchange of programmes included in Article 1 & 2, the two organizations shall exchange on commercial basis television
programmes such as musical, entertaining, dramatic programme for children and youth, etc. Payments resulting from this protocol will
be made within the framework of the payment agreement existing between India and the Czechoslovak Socialist RepubIic.
Article 4
The two organizations covenant to use programme materials sent according to this protocol only for their national programme. These
materials may not be transmitted to a third party or transferred to a further country. Any amendment or cut made to these materials
shall not change the contents involved.
Article 5
Each organization in its television programmes shall take note of the National Days and other important events in the history of the
other country.
Article 6
Each of the two organizations shall give to received teams from the other organization necessary technical services, assist them in
obtaining entry visas and shooting permits and other services according to conditions agreed upon in advance writing.
Article 7
Both organizations shall, according to the Article 6, invoice each other for special professional services rendered on the basis of
a price-list of most current services, which, having agreed upon by both organizations shall form an integral part of this protocol.
Article 8
As and when possible, All India Radio shall participate by delegation and film in the International Television Festival in Prague
and in the Festival of television films for children and youth “Prix Danube” in Bratislava and the Czechoslov side will do the same
in similar events organized by the Indian side.
Article 9
Representatives of the two organizations can be invited to visit the other organization in order to discuss questions of mutual interest.
The number of delegates, the length of their stay and the defrayment of the costs of their stay shall be agreed upon in writing in
advance by both organizations.
Article 10
The two organizations shall, within their capacity, receive trainees from the other country through appropriate agencies
.
Article 11
Both organizations shall exchange information in the field of television production, programmes and technical methods. Further, they
shall exchange free of charge documentary materials such as programme magazines, studies etc. published by the two sides.
Article 12
This protocol comes into force upon signature and shall remain in force for a period of three years. It shall continue to be in force
for a further period of three years unless terminated by either organization by giving to the other a three months prior written
notice to that effect.
