(1) If the Judge, after taking the evidence of the prosecution and defence and such further evidence (if any) as he may of his own motion cause to he produced, finds the accused not guilty he shall record a verdict of acquittal. If he finds the accused guilty he shall record a verdict of guilty and shall pass sentence upon the accused according to law and record such sentence. |

(2) The verdict shall be recorded not later than twenty-four hours after the conclusion of the taking of evidence, and the reasons for the verdict shall be recorded not later than fourteen days after recording the verdict. |

(3) The sentence, if any, shall, subject to the other provisions of this Law, be recorded at the time of the recording of the verdict. |
