(1) Every probation order shall contain conditions requiring that the offender-
| | (a) shall, within twenty-four hours of making of the order, present 'himself before the probation officer appointed to undertake the super-vision of the offender, at such place as may be specified in the order; | | |
| | (b) shall present himself before such probation officer at such place and at such times (not being less than once in such month) as may from time to time be specified by that officer, or shall, if required so to do by that officer in relation to any particular occasion, make a report in writing to that officer in lieu of presenting himself before him on that occasion; | | |
| | (c) shall reside at premises approved by such probation officer, and shall not change his place of residence or undertake employment or change his employment, if any, except with the prior written approval of such officer; | | |
| | (d) shall be of good behaviour and obey all such written or oral orders or directions be issued to him by such probation officer for the purpose of securing the good conduct and welfare of the offender. | | |

(2) Without prejudice to the provisions of subsection (1), the court may insert in any probation order such conditions as the court may consider necessary, including a condition that the offender shall reside, during a specified period, in a household, home or institution approved by the Commissioner of Probation Services for the purpose. The period so specified shall not exceed six months, except in a case where the court considers residence for a longer period to be necessary for any purpose. |

(3) Where a condition of residence in any household home or institution approved by the Commissioner is made in any probation order, the court may order the offender, or if the offender is below the age of sixteen years, his parent, guardian or surety, if any, to contribute toward the maintenance of the offender in such household, home or institution. |

(4) Where an order in terms of subsection (3)is made, the Commissioner shall have power to deter- mine the amount payable from time to time, having regard to the circumstances in each case. |
