| 47. In this Act unless the context otherwise requires-" Board" means the Anuradhapura Preservation Board established under section 2; "Chairman" means the person appointed under this Act to be or to act as the Chairman of the Board; "former Anuradhapura Urban Council" means the Urban Council which was constituted for the town of Anuradhapura under the Urban Councils Ordinance, and was subsequently dissolved by Order made and published under section 184 of that Ordinance: " General Treasury" means the Department of Government known as the General Treasury; "local authority" means any Municipal Council, Urban Council, Town Council or Village Council; " town of Anuradhapura" means the area declared to be the town of Anuradhapura under the Urban Councils Ordinance; " village area " has the same meaning as in the Village Councils Ordinance.
