2. Section 51 of the Coconut Development Act, No. 46 of 1971, is hereby amended in subsection (2) thereof by the insertion, immediately after paragraph (j) of that sub-section, of the following new paragraph:-
| (jj) prohibiting for such period as the Minister may deem necessary in the interest of national economy-
| | (i) the transport, sale or offer or exposure for sale of any young coconut other than king coconut, within the administrative limits of any Municipal Council or Urban Council; | | |
| | (ii) The cutting, damaging, mutilation or destroying of coconut flowers or the tender leaves of any coconut tree; | | |
| | (iii) the taping for commercial purposes, any coconut tree in any area other than an area in respect of which a licence has been issued by the Commissioner of Excise, permitting such tapping ; and | | |
| | (iv) the felling, lopping or killing or causing or permitting the felling, lopping or killing of any coconut tree on any land in any administrative district, other than on State land, unless the felling, lopping or killing of such tree has been authorized in writing by the Government Agent of that administrative district or any other officer acting under his authority | | |
