| 10. Section 11 of the principal enactment is hereby amended by the repeal of the definition of the expressions "consular functions" and "consular officer" and the substitution therefor of the following definitions :- '''consular archives" includes all papers, documents, correspondence, books, films, tapes and registers of the consular post, together with the ciphers and codes, the card - indexes and any article of furniture intended for their protection or safekeeping; "consular functions" means any consular function authorized by any written law, or any consular function specified in the Schedule hereto and' shall in addition include any function referred to in sections 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 of this Act; "consular officer" means any person, including the head of a consular post, entrusted with the exercise of consular functions; "consular post" means and consulate - general, consulate, vice-consulate, consulate agency or honorary consulate; "consular premises" means the buildings or parts of buildings and the land ancillary thereto, irrespective of ownership, which is used exclusively for the purposes of the consular office.". |
