Code Of Criminal Procedure (Amendment) Act (No. 12 of 1988) - Sect 2

Amendment of section 2 of Act No.15 of 1979

2.Section 2 of the Code of Criminal Procedure Act, No. 15 of 1979, is hereby amended by the substitution for the definition of " peace officer ", of the following new definition:
"Peace officer" includes a police officer, and a Divisional Assistant Government Agent and a Grama Seva Niladhari appointed by a Government Agent in writing to perform police duties;.
