Code Of Criminal Procedure Act (No. 15 of 1979) - Sect 291

When and where sentence of whipping to be executed

294.
(1) When the accused is sentenced to whipping the sentence shall, subject to the other provisions of this Chapter, be executed at such time and place as the court may direct.
(2) Such whipping shall in the case of persons above sixteen years of age be inflicted in the presence of a medical officer with a cane or rattan or other implement of such description and in such manner as the court may direct, and in the case of persons under sixteen years of age shall be inflicted with a light cane.
