(1) When a summons issued by a court is served an affidavit of such service purporting to be made before an officer duly authorized to administer an oath, or affirmation, or a report of such service purporting to be made by a peace officer, or an advice of delivery issued by the Post Office under the Post Office Rules or in the case mentioned in section 48 the endorsement therein mentioned, as the case may be, shall be admissible in evidence and the statements made therein shall be deemed to be correct unless and until the contrary is proved. |

(2) Every person making such report or endorsement as in this section mentioned shall be legally bound to state the truth in such statement or endorsement. |

(3) Any person appointed by the Minister in that behalf is hereby authorized to administer the oath or affirmation which is requisite to the making of the affidavit mentioned in subsection (1). |
