Colleges Of Education Act (No. 30 of 1986) - Sect 9

Presidents of Colleges

(1) There shall be appointed a President for each of the Colleges established by a College of Education Order under paragraph (a) of subsection (1) of section 2.

(2) The President of a College shall be the principal academic and administrative officer of the College and shall, subject to the general direction and control of the Board, be responsible for

	(a) the admission of students to the College in accordance with such rules as may be prescribed in that behalf;

	(b) the provision of instruction and training in such specialties of education as may be specified by the Board with the concurrence of the Institute;

	(c) the maintenance of discipline in the College;

	(d) the provision of amenities for students who have been admitted to the College;

	(e) the promotion of the moral, mental and physical well being of the staff and students of the College; and

	(f) the performance of such other duties as may be prescribed.
