Subject to the provisions of this Act, from and after the date on Which this section comes into operation no person shall commence to carryon Insurance business of any class unless such person is a company incorporated in Sri Lanka and registered under the Companies Act, No. 17 of 1982, for the sole purpose of carrying on insurance business and is for the time being registered under this Act, as being authorized to carry on insurance business in Sri Lanka.
