Code Of Intellectual Property (Amendment) Act (No. 13 of 1997) - Sect 2

General Amendment to the Act No. 52 of 1979

2. With effect from the date of commencement of this Act, wherever in any provision of the Code of Intellectual Property Act, No. 52 of 1979 (hereinafter referred to as the "principal enactment") or any other written law or notice, permit, communication, form or other document issued, made required or authorized, by or under the principal enactment or other written law -
(a) the expression "Registry of Patents and Trade Marks" and "Registry" denoting the Registry of Patents and Trade Marks occurs, there shall be substituted the expression "National Intellectual Property office of Sri Lanka" and "Office" respectively ;
(b) mention is made to any designation set out in Column I of the Schedule to this Act, there shall be substituted therefor, the designation set out in corresponding entry in Column II of that Schedule.
