Courts Of Requests (Special Provisions) Act (No. 5 of 1964) - Sect 3

Modification of certain written law consequential to the enhanced monetary jurisdiction of Courts of Requests

3. Every reference, whether in words or figures, in the provisions of any written law, cither than any such provisions of the Courts Ordinance and the Civil Procedure Code as are amended by the Schedule to this Act, in any context connected with or relating to the jurisdiction of
(a) a District Count to a sum or an amount exceeding, or
(b) a Court of Requests to a sum or an amount not exceeding,
three hundred rupees shall, on and after the date of the coming into operation of this Act, be construed, otherwise than in land cases, as a reference to a sum or an amount exceeding, or not exceeding, as the case may be, seven hundred and fifty rupees.
