Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Act (No. 28 of 1961) - Sect 65

Constitution of the Compensation Tribunal

55.
(1) There shall be established, for the purposes of this Act, a Compensation Tribunal (hereinafter referred to as the "Tribunal") consisting of ten members appointed by the Governor-General of whom at least five shall be persons with judicial or legal experience.
(2) A person shall be disqualified for being appointed or being a member of the Tribunal if he is a Senator, a Member of Parliament, or a member of the Corporation.
(3) A member of the Tribunal with judicial or legal experience shall be appointed to be the Chairman, and another member with similar experience shall be appointed to be the Vice-Chairman, of the Tribunal by the Governor-General.
(4) Every member of the Tribunal shall, unless he earlier vacates office or is removed there from by the Governor-General, hold office for a period of three years. Any member of the Tribunal who vacates office by effluxion of time shall be eligible for re appointment.
(5) There shall be appointed a Secretary to the Tribunal (hereinafter referred to as the " Secretary ") and such other officers and servants as may be necessary for the performance of the work of the Tribunal.
