54. Sections 416 and 417 of the principal enactment are hereby repealed and the following new sections substituted therefor: -
| 416. If at the institution, or at any subsequent stage, of an action, it appears to the court that a sole plaintiff is, or (when there are more plaintiffs than one) that ail the plaintiffs are residing outside Sri Lanka, the court may in its discretion, and either of its own motion or on the application of any defendants, order the plaintiff or plaintiffs, within a time to be fixed by the order, to give security for the payment of all costs incurred and likely to be Incurred by any defendant. |

| 417.
