(1) An authorized officer may require any Government medical officer to examine any person who appears to be a young person or child in order to ascertain his age or for any other purpose of this Act. The employer of the person to be examined shall permit such medical officer, where necessary, to enter the place of employment and examine that person, and that person shall submit himself to the medical examination. |

(2) Every employer who contravenes the provisions of subsection (1) of this section shall be guilty of an offence and shall, on conviction after summary trial before a Magistrate, be liable to a fine not exceeding one thousand rupees or imprisonment of either description for a period not exceeding six months or both such fine and such imprisonment. |
