22. The following new section is hereby inserted immediately after section 58, and shall have effect as section 58a, of the principal enactment:
| 58A.Notwithstanding anything in any other provision of this Ordinance, where any person is convicted of the elephants. offence of killing, hunting, shooting, injuring or taking, or of having in his possession or under his control, any wild elephant within a Natural Reserve or Sanctuary, he shall be liable to be punished with a fine not exceeding three thousand rupees, or to imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to three years, or to both such fine and imprisonment.". |
