Janawasa Law (No. 25 of 1976) - Sect 6

Savings for existing Janawasas

(1) Every society registered as a janawasa society under the Co-operative Societies Law, No. 8 of 1972, shall, with effect from the appointed date, be deemed to be registered as a Janawasa under this Law, and the by-laws of such Janawasa shall, in so far as they are not inconsistent with the express provisions of this Law, continue in force until altered OF rescinded under this Law.

(2) With effect from the appointed date -

	(a) all the property held by, and

	(b) all the existing rights and liabilities under any contract or agreement of,
