43. Section 36 of the principal enactment is hereby repealed and the following section substituted therefor:-

| | (1) Where in the case of any electoral area-
| | | (a) not more than one nomination paper has been submitted; or |
| (b) after the rejection of a nomination paper or papers the candidates of only one recognized political party or one independent group stand nominated for election, then-

| | (2) The returning officer shall report the result of the election through the elections officer of the district in which the electoral area is situated to the Com-missioner and upon the receipt of the report, the Commissioner shall forthwith cause a notice of the result to be published in the Gazette and in such other manner as may appear to him to be best calculated to give publicity thereto.". | | |
