| (1) A court in Sri Lanka may for the purpose of any proceedings in that court under this Act in pursuance of an application received by the Secretary from a specified country, request the Secretary to make to the appropriate authority or court in the specified country, a request for the taking in that country of the evidence of a person residing therein relating to matters connected with the application. |

| (2) A request made by a court under this section shall "
| | (a) give details of the application in question; | | |
| | (b) state the name and address of the person whose evidence is to be taken; and | | |
| | (c) specify the matters relating to which the evidence of such person is required. | | |
