Merchant Shipping Act (No. 52 of 1971) - Sect 140

Saving

140. Nothing in this Part or in any regulations made thereunder shall, unless it is expressly otherwise provided by such regulations, apply to-
(a) ships of war and troopships;
(b) cargo ships of less than five hundred tons gross tonnage;
(c) ships not propelled by mechanical means;
(d) wooden ships of primitive build;
(e) pleasure yachts not engaged in trade;
(f) fishing vessels.
