Summary procedure for concealment of wreck

250.
(1) Where a receiver of wrecks suspects or receives information-
(a) that any wreck is secreted or in the possession of some person who is not the owner thereof; or
(b) that any wreck is otherwise improperly dealt with,
(2) On receiving an application from a receiver of wrecks under sub-section (1), a Magistrate may grant a warrant to the receiver and the receiver may, by virtue thereof,-
(a) enter any house or other place wherever situate, and also any vessel, to search for any wreck referred to in sub-section (1); and
(b) seize and detain any such wreck.
(3) If any seizure of a wreck is made by a receiver of wrecks under sub-section (2) in consequence of any information given by any person to the receiver, such person shall be entitled by way of salvage to such sum, not exceeding in any case one hundred rupees, as the receiver may allow.
