(1) There may be appointed, for the purposes of this Act, such deputies and assistants to the Director, and such other officers as may be necessary. |

(2) It shall be lawful for the Director to assign to such deputies or assistants and other officers as are referred to in sub-section (1) the functions and duties to be carried out by them and every such officer discharging and performing any functions and duties under this Act shall be deemed, until the contrary is proved, to be the proper officer for the performance of that function or duty. |

(3) All such officers as are referred to in sub-section (1) may exercise, perform or discharge all or any of the powers, duties or functions conferred or imposed on or assigned to them under this Act. |

(4) In the exercise, performance and discharge of the powers, duties or functions conferred or imposed on or assigned to them under this Act, the officers referred to in sub-section (1) shall be subject to the directions and control of the Director. |
