9. Section 18 of the principal enactment is hereby repealed and the following new section substituted therefor : -

Where a motor vehicle which is registered has been permanently removed from Ceylon, or destroyed, or dismantled and broken up, or otherwise rendered permanently unserviceable, the Registrar shall cancel the registration of that vehicle upon the receipt of a written application in that behalf from the registered owner of that vehicle accompanied by the prescribed fee for such cancellation : |
