Section 2 of the Newspapers Ordinance (hereinafter referred to as "the principal enactment'") is hereby amended by the substitution for the expression " he shall be guilty of an offence and shall, on conviction after summary trial before a Magistrate, be liable to imprisonment of either description for a term not exceeding one year, or to a fine not exceeding one thousand rupees, or to both such imprisonment and fine. ", of the expression " he shall be guilty of an offence and shall, on conviction before a Magistrate, be liable to imprisonment of either description for a term not exceeding two years, or to a fine not exceeding five thousand rupees, or to both such imprisonment and fine.
