| 23. Except as hereinafter provided public archives shall not be removed from the National Archives to any other place for any purpose whatsoever: Provided however that where any public office which transmitted to the National Archives any record, document, manuscript or other thing requires the same for inspection by such office, such record, manuscript, document or thing may be forwarded to such office by the Director for inspection and return within such period as may be specified by the Director. |
