Pawnbrokers (Amendment) Act (No. 11 of 1963) - Sect 2

Insertion of new section 2a in Chapter 90.[ 47 (1) (a), 11 of 1963.]

2. The following new section is hereby inserted in Part II immediately before section 3 and shall have effect as section 2A of the Pawnbrokers Ordinance, hereinafter referred to as the "principal enactment" : -
2A. On or after the first day of January, 1964, no person shall carry on the business of a pawnbroker if such person-
(i) is an individual who is not a citizen of Ceylon ; or
(ii) is a foreign company; or
(iii) is a foreign firm,
