| 1. This Act may be cited as the Prevention and Punish ment of Crimes against Internationally Protected Persons, Act, No. 15 of 1991 and shall come into operation on such date as the Minister, by Order published in the Gazette, certifies as the date on which the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Crimes against Inter nationally Protected Persons, including Diplomatic Agents, signed in New York on December 14, 1973, (hereinafter referred to as " the Convention") enters into force in respect of Sri Lanka. |
