Procedure on non-payment of an electronically presented cheque

34.
(1) Where a cheque presented for payment in accordance with subsection (1) of section 33 is dishonored by non-payment, the banker to whom the holder delivered the cheque for collection shall either return the cheque to the holder or shall issue to the holder an image return document conforming to all requirements set out by the Central bank.
(2) An image return document shall be deemed to be the cheque to which it relates.
