Restriction on public meetings
70. No public meeting shall be held in any administrative district during the period commencing forty-eight hours before the date of the poll and ending one week after the members of Provincial Council from, that administrative district have been declared elected by the returning officer. Every person who contravenes any of the preceding provisions shall be guilty of an offence and shall, on conviction after summary trial before a Magistrate, be liable to a fine not exceeding one thousand rupees or to imprisonment of either description for a term not exceeding one month, or to both such fine and imprisonment. |
