9. Section 30 of the principal enactment is hereby amended in subsection (1) of that section, by the repeal of paragraph (b) of that subsection, and the substitution of the following paragraph therefor :
| " (b) outside the polling station a notice specifying the name of each recognized political party contesting the election or in the case of an independent group contesting the election, the words "Independent Group" for each such group and the distinguishing number, if any, allotted to it together with the names of the candidates (as indicated by the candidates) in alphabetical order, according to the sinhala alphabet of each such recognized political party or independent group, the serial number assigned to each such candidate and the approved symbol alloted to each such party or group'. |
