| 31. In laying out or constructing any new street or thoroughfare, or in turning, diverting, widening, opening, enlarging, or otherwise improving, any street or thoroughfare, a Pradeshiya Sabha may, in addition to the land required for the purposes of the carriageways and footways thereof, also purchase the land necessary for houses and buildings to form the said street or thoroughfare, and may sell, lease or otherwise dispose of the same, subject to the provisions of paragraphs (x), (xi) and (xii) of section 18 and subject to such stipulations and conditions as to the class and description of houses or building to be erected thereon as the Pradeshiya Sabha may think fit. |
