Peradeniya Sri Sarananda, Bauddha Sangamaya (Incorporation) Act (No. 8 of 1985) - Sect 3

General objects of the Corporation

3. The general objects for which the Corporation is constituted are hereby declared to be-
(a) the maintenance and welfare of the Sri Sarananda Pirivena Mahavihara ;
(b) the maintenance and welfare of other temples and pirivenas affiliated to the said Sri Sarananda Pirivena. Mahavihara ;
(c) the establishment of Buddhist Centres 'along with Pilgrims' Rest for the benefit of pilgrims;
(d) the furtherance of missionary work and promotion of the Buddha Dhamma and, the training of priests for such purpose; and
(e) the carrying out of all other social, religious or cultural activities approved by the Corporation.
