3. The general objects of the Corporation shall be -
(a) to encourage the observance of Buddhist principles and to engage in activities for the advancement of the knowledge of the Dhamma and the promotion of 'the Buddhist' way of life; |

(b) to foster better and closer understanding and relationship between the laity and the clergy, to help in the prevention of crime and the promotion of the temperance movement and to render assistance to the needy; |

(c) to promote such activities which would tend to help the members and the Buddhist residents in the area desisting from committing the five-fold sins; |
|
(d) to advance the, moral. cultural, physical and social welfare of Buddhist youth ; |
|
(e) to promote unity and co-operation among Buddhists and to protect Buddhist rights and privileges; and |
|
(f) to promote such activities which would help, members adopt proper attitudes in life, regardless of political and other differences. |
