(1) Where the revision of a register has commenced under section 16 of the Ceylon (Parliamentary Elections) Order in Council, 1946, and has not been concluded on the date of the publication of the Proclamation under Article 97 of the Constitution, such revision shall, upon the publication of such Proclamation, be continued and concluded in accordance with the provisions of this Act, as if such revision were a revision of a register prepared under Part III of this Act, and accordingly any step taken in respect of such revision under the aforesaid Order in Council shall, for all purposes, be deemed to be a step taken under this Act. |

(2) Every reference in any document relating to the revision of a register in respect of any electoral district in existence before ;he publication of the Proclamation under Article 97 of the Constitution, shall, upon such publication, be read and construed as a reference to the appropriate electoral district specified in such Proclamation within which the electoral district in existence before the publication of such Proclamation has been included. |
