(1) The Director-General shall be the Chief Executive Officer of the Authority. |

(2) The Director-General shall subject to the general direction of the Authority on matters of policy be charged with the direction of the business of the Authority and the discharge of its functions by the Authority. |
|
(3) The Authority shall have the power to appoint such number of officers, agents and servants as it considers necessary for the efficient discharge of its functions and the performance of its duties under this Act, and to exercise disciplinary control over and dismiss any officer, agent or servant so appointed. |
|
(4) The Authority may delegate to the Director-General in any officer appointed under subsection (3) any of it's flowers, and the person to whom such powers are delegated may exercise such powers subject to the direction of the Authority. |
|
(5) The officers, agents and servants appointed under subsection (3), shall be remunerated to such manner at suck rates and shall be subject to such conditions of service as may be determined by the Authority. |
|
(6) At the request of the Authority any officer in the public service may, with the consent of that officer and Secretary to the Ministry of the Minister to charge of the subject of Public Administration, be temporarily appointed to the staff of the Authority for such period as may be determined by the Authority with the consent or with the like consent be permanently appointed to such staff. |

(7) Where any officer in the public service is temporarily appointed to the staff of the Authority the provisions of subsection (2) of section 14 of the National Transport Commission Act, No. 37 of 1991, shall, mutatis mutandis, apply to, and in relation to, him. |
|
(8) Where any officer in the public service is permanently appointed to the staff of the Authority the provisions of subsection (3) of section 14 of the National Transport Commission Act. No. 37 of 1991, shall, mutatis mutandis, apply to, and in relation to, him. |
|
(9) Where the Authority employs any person who has agreed to serve the Government for a specified period, any period of service with the Authority by that person shall be regarded as service to the Government for the purposes of charging the obligations of that person under such agreement. |
|
