| 34. A bill of exchange which is presented for acceptance, or accepted, or payable, outside Sri Lanka shall not be in valid by reason only that it is not stamped in accordance with the provisions of this Act, and any such bill of exchange which is not duly stamped shall be admitted in evidence on payment of the stamp duty with which that bill of exchange is chargeable or in the case of any such bill of exchange which is insufficiently stamped, of the amount required to make up the proper duty, together with a penalty, not exceeding three times the amount of the proper duty |
