Sri Lanka Ports Authority Act (No. 51 of 1979) - Sect 21

Ports Authority entitled to alter conditions of service of certain employees

21.
(1) The Ports Authority may, when offering persons temporary or permanent employment under the provisions of section 15(1) or 16(1), make adjustments in salary and allowances provided that the terms and conditions shall, on the whole, be not less favourable than those enjoyed by him in the service of the Colombo Port Commission on the day immediately preceding the appointed date.
(2) Any person aggrieved by the terms and conditions offered under subsection (1) may appeal to the Secretary to the Ministry within a period of thirty days reckoned from the date on which such terms and conditions are communicated to him by the Ports Authority, and the decision of the Secretary on such appeal shall be final.
