(1) The Chairman of the Board may, by written notice, direct any person who has made an application to the Board or any person who is reasonably believed by the Board to have a knowledge of the necessary facts relating to the tea or rubber estate in respect of which such application has been made-
| | (a) to furnish, within the time specified in the notice, such information relating to the subject-matter of the application as may be so specified, or | | |
| | (b) to produce or cause to be produced, within the time specified in the notice, such documentary or other evidence for the consideration of the application as may be so specified. | | |

(2) A person to whom a notice under subsection (1) is sent shall comply with such notice within the time specified therein. |
