| 17. Section 53 of the principal enactment is hereby amended by the repeal of all the words from" before a Magistrate, " to " fine and imprisonment." and the substitution of the following therefor: "before a Magistrate, be liable in the case of the offence of failing to comply with the requirements of a notice issued under section 9, to a fine not exceeding fifty thousand rupees or to imprisonment of either description for a term not exceeding six months or to both such fine and imprisonment and in any other case, to a fine not exceeding five thousand rupees or to imprisonment of either description for a term not exceeding six months or to both such fine and imprisonment. |
