| 15. In the event of any member of a Village Council dying, or vacating his office by virtue of the provisions of section 13, or refusing of resigning office under section 14, a by-election in accordance with the provisions of written law for the time being applicable in that behalf shall, unless the Minister1 by Order published in the Gazette otherwise directs, be held for the purpose of filling up such vacancy ; and the person so elected shall hold office until the next succeeding general election of members of that Council. |
