CODE OF POLICE LAWS (CAP. 10)
Maintenance of Good Order at Places of Entertainment
(Amendment) Regulations, 2008
IN exercise of the powers conferred by article 183 of the Code of Police Laws, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Justice and Home Affairs has made the following regulations>-
1. The title of these regulations is the Maintenance Of Good Order at Places of Entertainment (Amendment) Regulations, 2008, and they shall be read and construed as one with the Maintenance of Good Order at Places of Entertainment Regulations, 1995 hereinafter referred to as “the principal regulations”.
2. Regulation 6 of the principal regulations shall be amended as follows>-
(a) sub-regulations (2) to (4) thereof shall be renumbered as sub-regulations (3) to (5) respectively<
(b) immediately after sub-regulation (1) thereof, there shall be added the following new sub-regulation>-
“(2) Persons under the age of sixteen shall be allowed inside a place of entertainment if the proprietor applies for permission to allow persons under the age of sixteen to be permitted inside his place of entertainment and is granted such permission. Such permission shall be subject to the condition that wines, beers or spirituous liqueurs are not to be displayed, served, sold or consumed on such premises.”< conditions may also be attached to such permission regarding date, time and place as may be appropriate.
(c) for sub-regulation (3) as renumbered thereof, there shall be substituted the following>-
“(3) The proprietor shall be responsible to ensure that, when persons under the age of sixteen are allowed in his place of entertainment, no wines, beers or spirituous liquors are displayed, served or consumed on the premises.”< and

Amends regulation

6 of the principal regulations.

(d) for sub-regulation (5) as renumbered thereof, there shall be substituted the following>-
“(5) Any proprietor who is found in breach of this regulation shall be guilty of an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine (multa) of two hundred thirty three euros for every person under sixteen years of age found inside his place of entertainment, in addition to any punishment to which he is liable under regulation 15 of these regulations.”
