Education Act (Cap. 327) Master Of Science - M.Sc. - Degree Course (Amendment) Regulations, 2007 (L.N.75 Of 2007 )

IN exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 74 (5) and
75 (6) of the Education Act (Cap. 327), the Chancellor of the University of Malta has promulgated the following regulations made by the Senate of the University of Malta by virtue of the powers conferred upon it by sections 75 and 79 of the said Act:

1. These regulations may be cited as the Master of Science – M.Sc. – Course (Amendment) Regulations, 2007 and shall be read and construed as one with the Master of Science – M.Sc. – Degree Course Regulations, 1996, published as Legal Notice 90 of
1996, hereinafter referred to as “the principal regulations”.

2. These regulations shall be applicable for courses starting in October 2006 or

3. For sub-paragraph (b) (i) of paragraph (2) of regulation 5 of the principal regulations there shall be substituted the following:
“(i) for Pathology (Mechanisms of Disease) and Public Health Medicine:
(a) the degree of Doctor of Medicine and Surgery; or
(b) the degree of Bachelor of Dental Surgery, awarded with Second
Class (Honours) or better; or
(c) the degree of Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours), awarded with
Second Class (Honours) or better; or
(d) the degree of Bachelor of Science in Nursing/Midwifery Studies awarded with Second Class (Honours) or better; or
(e) the degree of Bachelor of Science (Honours) of the Faculty of Science or the Institute of Health Care, awarded with Second Class (Honours) or better; or

(f) the degree of Bachelor of Science, awarded with Category II or better; or
(g) any other degree deemed relevant to the proposed studies by the
Board of Studies,
in all cases awarded by this University; or
(h) a degree awarded by another university and deemed equivalent in content and standard to any of the degrees mentioned in (a) to (g) of this sub-paragraph.”
